Please join us for the Winter 2012 CSF! Deliveries begin on Thursday, January 19th and run through Thursday, April 12th, 2012.
Deliveries will occur every other week starting on the 3rd Thursday in January (schedule). Those who purchase a share will receive 7 deliveries.
Over the course of the Winter CSF, you will receive a variety of locally harvested seafood from a group of Carteret County fishermen who you will get to know.
This winter you will receive variety of shellfish and finfish, including: oysters, hard clams, flounder, triggerfish, bluefish, blue crabs, and snapper. On weeks when we offer species such as hard crabs you will have an option.
As always, the composition of each week’s share will vary depending on seasonal availability and weather conditions.
This winter, if weather forces us to postpone a delivery, we may try to make up the delivery the following week or on one of the off weeks, rather than postponing it until the end of the season. By doing this, we can be slightly more flexible and take advantage of periods of good weather and local availability. If this happens, and we delay a delivery, you will be notified as soon as possible and we will do our bes to work with your schedules. |


Shares can be picked up on Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the public parking lot at the Sarah P. Duke Gardens off Anderson Street (directions are available on our website). Please note: this is NOT the same day as the Mobile Market pick up.
Shares will be delivered to Durham in accordance with state and federal regulations. Your seafood will be kept at a safe temperature until you arrive. Different species will have different storage times, so please check the weekly email for any special handling instructions. We strongly recommend you place your seafood in a refrigerator (set as close to 32 degrees as possible) as soon as possible after pick up. We are not responsible for the safety of your seafood once it is in your possession.
It is your responsibility to bring a small cooler or insulated bag to transport your seafood home. We will provide ice or previously frozen ice packs at the pick-up site.
If you are unable to pickup your share, please make arrangements with someone else to pick-up your seafood. We are unable to compensate you for missed shares. For your convenience, there is a message board on our website in the Member’s Forum page where you can swap/trade/buy shares from other members. Please make your arrangements directly with the other members.
Unclaimed shares cannot be stored or held after 6:00 p.m. due to their perishable nature.

North Carolina’s weather is often unpredictable and there may be times when weather prevents fishing. If weather prohibits a fresh catch, we will either extend the number of deliveries or provide locally harvested frozen fish. If a pickup is cancelled or delayed, you will be notified by email as soon as possible.
